Perfect People?

Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also called on his name. They cried to the Lord for help, and he answered them. He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud, and they followed the laws and decrees he gave them. O Lord our God, you answered them. You were a forgiving God to them, but you punished them when they went wrong. Psalm 99: 6-8 NLT

They followed God's laws, God heard their prayers. They were the biggest names in the Old Testament. Yet, even when they did wrong they were punished. God forgave them, yes, but they were not perfect.

Quickly name at least on person you have known in your lifetime that you have always seen as perfect. Do you think they were really that perfect? Perhaps they were giants in your own faith journey but simply real people with faults.

Either way, God is still that same forgiving God. God does not overlook when we do wrong but God does forgive us.

God, thank you for listening to me. Thank you for always loving me despite my imperfections. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
