We praise you, Lord, for all your glorious power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts. Psalm 21: 13 NLT
What kind of Christian music do you like? Gospel hymns? Shape singing? Contemporary Christian? Christian rock or new age? High church hymns or chanting? Music from foreign lands? Taize? Gospel quartets? I like Taize and contemporary Christian.
How about your favorite worship song or hymn? What is the one you always want to hear? Do you have a favorite group you like to hear sing? Among my favorite hymns are: It is Well With My Soul and Hymn of Promise. I enjoy listening to Ladysmith Black Mambazo (South African - think Paul Simon's Graceland).
Psalm 21 ends with a reminder that we are thanking God for all God's glorious power. And we do that by singing and making music. As you end this prayer, turn to your ipod or to to YouTube and find a favorite song and take some time to celebrate God's mighty acts.
God, thank you for all your glorious power! We celebrate your mighty acts. In Jesus' name. Amen.
