Stand firm in the Lord

Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to slander others or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise persistent sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the Lord and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who do not charge interest on the money they lend, and who refuse to accept bribes to testify against the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever. Psalm 15: 2-5 NLT

Would you like to stand firm in God forever? Then here are the top four things that you should do:

1) Lead a blameless life - do what is right and speak the truth sincerely.

2) Refuse to hurt others by what you say - do not slander others, harm your neighbors or speak evil of your friends.

3) Be accountable and hold others the same - despise those who continue to sin even after they have repented of the same; honor those who follow God, even when they don't do it like you do; and keep your word, even when you will be shamed or ridiculed.

4) Don't use money in your relationships - if you give money to someone, don't expect anything in return and don't be bribed through any means (power, job advancement, fame) in order to blame the innocent.

Then you will stand firm in the Lord forever.

God, help us to live blameless lives, stop hurting others with what we say, be accountable and hold others to be the same and refuse to use money/power/fame in our relationships. Then we will stand firm in you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
