Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the Lord's blessing and have right standing with God their savior. They alone may enter God's presence and worship the God of Israel. Psalm 24: 3-6 NLT
Who is holy enough, pure enough, and worthy to stand with God?
I am reminded of Moses. He lived a lie (his wet nurse was his actual mother), was raised in Pharaoh's household (you can't tell me he didn't worship any of those Egyptian gods and live there for long), murdered a man and then ran away from home to escape punishment.
Yet, it was Moses who was invited to approach the burning bush and take off his sandals on holy ground. It was Moses who climbed the mountain and spent 40 days and nights with God. It was Moses who got to see God's backside. It was Moses who spent so much time in God's presence that his face glowed so that no one could look upon it.
Who is holy enough, pure enough, and worthy to stand with God?
You.
God, may we receive your blessings and have a right standing with you, our Lord and savior. Amen.
